What Is OVO Charge Anytime?
OVO Charge Anytime uses smart tech which means you always smart charge your car at the greenest times, at a super-low rate. Plus, you can see how much money you’re saving with Charge Anytime credits. The app automatically charges your car when rates are lowest, costing under 2p per mile.
You could charge your EV for as little as £217 when you add OVO Charge Anytime to your plan. Enjoy flexible, app-controlled charging with no time limits, and power your car when the grid is greenest.*
How Does OVO Charge Anytime Work?
To access OVO’s Charge Anytime add-on you must be an OVO home customer. Once you’re signed up to OVO you can add Charge Anytime to your OVO plan for free and save up to £620 a year when you smart charge your EV from home.

Charge for 7p per kWh any time you smart charge your EV. This works out to be under 2p per mile, which is 80% less than the price of petrol.
If you need your car urgently, you can override your smart charging schedule with the Charge Now function.

Am I Eligible For OVO Charge Anytime?
You must have a compatible electric car or home charge point, a smart meter and an OVO account. If you're an OVO customer, simply log in to your account to check if your set-up is compatible. And if you're not with OVO, you can still find out if your set-up is compatible before you switch.

This saving claim has been calculated by comparing the 'Tesla Model 3 Standard
Range RWD: 210 miles' doing the UK average of 7,000 miles with Charge Anytime with a
smart charging rate of 7p per kWh & 3.65m/kWh versus the 'BMW 3 Series with a 820 Mile
Range and 13 Gallon Tank' doing 7,000 miles using petrol where the price per litre is £1.40.
The 'Tesla Model 3 Standard Range RWD: 210 miles ' equates to 1.92p per mile. Whilst the
'BMW 3 Series 820 Mile Range, 13 Gallon Tank' equates to 10.09p per mile. Resulting in
driving petrol being over 5 times more expensive.

Actual sum is £620.93 When you add Charge Anytime to your plan, your home energy rate
will stay the same, but the energy consumed by your EV will be charged at an effective rate
of 7p per kWh when EV smart charging (thanks to payment of your Charge Anytime
charging credit).
The £620 saving is based on an average Charge Anytime customer using 3100kWh a year to
charge their EV using the Charge Anytime add on. The Charge Anytime rate on 01/04/2025
is 7p per kWh for Charge Anytime charging compared to the OVO’s UK average SVT rate of
27.03p per kWh. Actual savings will vary depending on vehicle efficiency, driving style, EV
charging usage and the cost per kWh of your standard home energy tariff.
To get the Charge Anytime add-on, you’ll need to have a compatible electric vehicle and/or
EV charger, a smart meter, and to download our app. You’ll also need to agree to your smart
meter sharing half-hourly readings with us. For full details of compatible chargers and EVs

If you need your car in a hurry, you can override your smart charging schedule with the
Charge Now function. You'll be charged at your standard home electricity rate when you're
not smart charging.
